If you are worried that your house has mold, here are the most frequent signs to look out for:  

Visible Signs: 

• Uneven patches on the floors and walls. If your walls have bubbling under the paint and your floors seem squishy, then you almost certainly have mold growing.  
• Black spores spreading on surfaces. 
• You can smell a musty/damp odor.  

What does Mold Smell like? 

When mold is growing and spreading, it releases compounds that have a distinct and unpleasant odor. Once you are familiar with this smell, there is no mistaking it. The best way to describe this smell is; wet, stale, and musty.  

Where can Mold hide?  

Mold grows in areas of the home where there is moisture, oxygen, warmth and darkness.  

Bathrooms- Check behind your toilet around the waste pipe, under the flooring, around the sink, and behind the basin.  

Kitchens- Check behind your appliances that use or produce moisture, such as your refrigerator and ice dispenser.  

Bedrooms- The main places to find mold in the bedrooms are mattresses and window sills.
