Freezing temperatures cause damage

After experiencing a historic freeze in Littleton NC, this homeowner found the freeze had caused a leak in his home. Since the homeowner found the leak 30 days after it had occurred, most of the flooring and walls were wet with microbial growth beginning to form. Heavy mold was found under the floor and behind baseboards. The structural framing had been completely saturated for several weeks while temperatures outside were still near freezing. Damaged materials had to be removed from the home and structural framing had to be dried. The SERVPRO of Roanoke Rapids team used a hydronic boiler heating system which ran for three days.
